Tattoo life...Daniel Inked (Bamdad) ...the bad boy!

Daniel Bamdad is a german professional dancer and choregraph. Daniel is from Hamburg, he is 21yrs and has decided to move to Paris in 2011 to pursue his upcoming artistic projects in France. Nicknamed Daniel “inked” Bamdad, you may have seen him featured in French singer Shy’m “On se fout de nous” video clip.

„This is art” is inked above his right eye – Daniel ́s favourite tattoo. He is considering his body as a piece of art. He spent about 100 hours getting tattooed by now. Paradoxically, super-inked Daniel is making a big stir in the fashion business, which is made-up of flawless bodies.

THE POP_UP Store 

Earlier today, I stopped by the new Odin Fragrances Pop-up Shop in the East Village designed by the ever-talented Snarkitecture. The 350-square foot, elongated shop, right next to Odin’s main store, is filled by an installation created with hundreds of white plaster cast pieces in the shape of Odin’s Fragrance bottles. These ‘bottles’, in extreme contrasting white – highlighting the occasional black fragrance bottle within the piece – are both inverted and suspended from the ceiling in a beautiful, flowing pattern, as well as elevated on poles from the floor twisting their way around the space. It’s really quite lovely and unexpected on the East 11th Street block.

the Smack Bar... graffiti time!

The Smack bar in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire was designed by Steve Smith and Adrian Baynes and displays a club-like environment. However, the feel of this place is not just party-related, but is it also unconventional and highly creative.

The concept for the project was described by the developers as “shock and awe”. This is probably because the bar features graffiti-like writing on the walls, floors and ceilings and illuminated floors. Moreover, lighting effects were added around the bar also, in order to create an atmosphere  that is surprising and almost dizzying.

GRAZIE, mercie, thanks...very good PIZZA in Paris

Grazie is our favourite place in Paris.......a hybrid place, a concept-restaurant, something between pizzeria and cocktail bar in a deconstructed, rough & ready décor. The peacock on the knocked together shelves of the bar looks as he has been sitting there forever. The place has patina, but the truth is, the past comes out of imagination here, it’s “mise en scène”, exactly the kind of atmosphere the bobos are looking for: anti bling-bling luxury.
